Revival: Recolonization is set to launch on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on February 26.

The Revival series originated over two decades ago, with its first installment released in 2003 on the Symbian platform. This initial game drew inspiration from the Civilization series and the science fiction novels of the Strugatsky brothers, including Roadside Picnic and Noon World.
Despite its small size, the original game offered a complete 4X experience, encompassing exploration, expansion, exploitation, and extermination.
Revival: Recolonization is set on Earth following an apocalypse triggered by a powerful AI uprising. The last remnants of humanity, known as Emissaries, survived by retreating into cryopods concealed deep beneath the surface.
The objective is to restore human civilization by rebuilding cities, researching technology, exploring hazardous territories for rare resources and anomalies, engaging in combat with hostile factions, and establishing trade relations with allies.
Players encounter various Peoples across the map, survivors who have reverted to a primitive existence. The chosen clan dictates the playstyle, influencing the faction’s culture, politics, specialized weaponry, unique structures, and exclusive scientific research paths.
Clans are categorized into five distinct Peoples, each adapted to one of five climate types: Cold, Cool, Temperate, Hot, and Desert.
Units operating in unfamiliar climates may suffer health penalties, hinder construction, or fail to yield resources.
Climate can be manipulated through edicts, an ancient advanced technology. This allows for strategic climate alteration, even transforming it into a weapon by changing temperatures in enemy territories.
Edicts offer a wide range of powerful actions, including terraforming by raising or destroying mountains, cultivating forests, unleashing environmental hazards like acid, exerting mind control over adversaries, or even initiating a zombie apocalypse.
Each battle in Revival unfolds on a dedicated map that mirrors the global climate and terrain. Players can scout the battlefield prior to combat and strategically position units on advantageous hexes.
The Unit Editor provides extensive customization, allowing for the creation of unique units with diverse traits. As an empire expands, new sciences and resources become available, offering further opportunities to evolve military squads.
Diplomacy develops in response to relationships with other factions. Securing favorable agreements requires improving one’s standing. Trading extends beyond resources to include technologies and edicts.
Players begin with a single clan and region. Adjacent territories may be controlled by other factions or remain unclaimed. Independent neighboring clans can be vassalized and eventually assimilated.
A clan’s friendliness is measured by Loyalty, which changes over time and can be influenced by player actions.
